To properly care for jewelry (especially pearls)...
1) Always put it on last and take it off first to avoid contact with cosmetics and chemicals.
2) Gently clean it with mild soapy water and a soft cloth after each wear
3) Store separately from other jewelry in a soft pouch and have it professionally restrung periodically, especially if worn frequently
4) Never expose pearls to harsh chemicals like perfume, hairspray, or cleaning products.
5) Avoid wearing them while swimming, showering, or doing housework.
